Sometimes, when I teach my children the commandments of God, I ask them hypothetical questions based on theoretical concerns, or observed circumstances.
I asked them: Jesus says to give to everyone that asks, and to take no thought for the morrow, and to not break his commandments even to save your lives. But what if you only have, say, $800 on hand, and your $800 rent is due tomorrow, and you don't get paid for another 5 days, and someone - like, an enemy - asks you for $800 today?
Then to keep Jesus's commandments we'd have to give the person the $800 today, they said.
Why is that an easy question for children to answer?
